Logistics Update: Vamonos a Cuba!

During the past few months, the IEDP Logistics Committee has been working very hard on behind-the-scenes preparations for our Cuba trip!

December was spent researching and reserving domestic flights, solidifying an MOU with our host organization in Havana, and coordinating necessary travel documents (passports, Visas, travel licenses, health insurance) for program participants. A major accomplishment in January was securing affordable charter flights for 22 travelers from Miami to Havana! Also in January, Tachana worked on creating a booklet with relevant cultural and safety information as well as general travel tips and suggestions. Over the past few weeks, I have been working closely with the Contacts Committee on schedule meetings with relevant policymakers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.

No signs of slowing down in February: we're finalizing logistics around our accommodations, developing a packing list, presenting a brief pre-departure orientation, and solidifying our daily itinerary in Havana.

The countdown to the trip has begun, and soon our hard work will pay off. ¡Vamonos a Cuba!
